Born in the early 80s in a small town in Northern Germany, I was raised as an only child. The most exciting time of the year was always the school holidays when we would travel around in our motorhome and explore Europe. These adventures embedded in me from an early age the lust for travel, foreign cultures and food.

My late grandfather Heinz Tetzner was a well known expressionist painter in East Germany and so I have always been surrounded by art and graphics in one way or another. Snooping around his dusty atelier filled with colourful oil and watercolour paintings, I always felt a sense of awe and wonder around art. While the painting skills have certainly not made their way into my blood, I am proud to say that a strong passion for photography runs through my veins.

I now live in Bali with my husband and two rescue dogs, documenting the Balinese way of life through photography and writing. My focus is on capturing the ‘real’ Bali and her people, away from the mainstream tourist trails. I’m particularly interested in documenting the island’s traditional ways of living so as to preserve them in a visual format for future generations to come.

Whether you’re wanting to purchase one of my photographic prints or just scroll through my travel diary, I hope you find the inspiration you are looking for.
